Should I convert my swamp cooler to refrigerated air?
For most Glendale homes, yes. Evaporative cooling holds up in dry May heat and stops keeping up once monsoon humidity arrives. A conversion means a condenser, an indoor coil or air handler, a line set, electrical work, and usually duct modification — evaporative ducts are sized for much higher airflow than a refrigerated system uses. We scope all of that up front so the price does not move.
My older Glendale home has a gas furnace. Should I be worried about it?
Any gas furnace past about fifteen years deserves an annual heat exchanger inspection. Cracks let combustion gases into your supply air, and because Phoenix furnaces sit idle eight months a year, problems tend to surface on the first cold night. We inspect the exchanger, test for carbon monoxide and check the flue on every heating tune-up.
